I Professor Peter Newstead was President of the Liverpool Mathematical Society in 1998 and retired from my his University of Liverpool position in 2006 but am still 2006. He remained active in research
and remain was Treasurer of the Liverpool Mathematical Society. I am Society until 2024. In the past, he was also Chair of the Roadshow Subcommittee and Treasurer
of the Liverpool Mathematical Society Bursary Fund (see Joyce Hatton Memorial Bursaries).
