What about the Wasan teasers that puzzled Samurai? In this interactive presentation, the audience is taken on a journey through time and space. We'll skip the textbooks and focus on the recreations that entertained the people of the past and provide play for those of the present. Through it we'll stumble upon some mathematical nuggets. About the speaker Tiago Hirth is a mathematician with a deep enthusiasm for the playful side of the subject, including magic, movement, and games. In his free time, he actively engages in science outreach, organising events, and teaching others. As a co-founder of Circo Matemático, he has spent over a decade blending mathematics with the art of circus performance. His main interests lie in Recreational Mathematics, the Conjuring Arts, and their historical backgrounds.
