Emily says: I’m a composer. I write music and I like to take inspiration for my music from mathematics. Recently I have been collaborating with mathematician Lasse Rempe-Gillen at the University of Liverpool and I will talk about how I created musical works ‘Leviathan’ and ‘Orbits’ in response to Lasse’s own current research in dynamical systems. The talk will feature video footage of musical performances by virtuoso Paris-based duo scapegoat and conversations with Lasse about the mathematics behind the music.
NO TICKETS FOR THIS LECTURE. ALL ARE WELCOME. STUDENTS OF ALL AGES ARE FREE, ALSO MEMBERS OF LivMS ARE FREE. OTHERS £3 AT THE DOOR.
