Blaise Pascal (1623 – 1662) was a French mathematician.

He made major contributions in projective geometry and to the development of Probability theory.

Pascal made a contribution to the understanding the geometric arrangement of the binomial coefficients in a triangle. The is now called Pascal's triangle even though many mathematicians had studied it for many year before.
