This needs a diagram. We take bearings by measuring the angle between two points.

There are several types of bearings, but there are two main types:

Bearings from North are always given as an angle (usually in degrees) going clockwise. This due East is at a bearing of 90 degrees, due South is 180 degrees, and due West is at 270 degrees. North is very occasionally given as 360.0 degrees, but this is unusual.

Relative bearings are given from one to another, and again, are given as an angle measured clockwise.

Bearings always have a direction, they go from one place, to another, always clockwise (rightwards). One can speak of the angle between two points, but that is not a bearing.
