John Harrison (24 March 1693 - 24 March 1776) was born in Foulby, near Wakefield, in West Yorkshire. He solved the LongitudeProblem, but was never awarded the prize. Made the chronometers H1, H2, H3 and H4. ---- One of the Famous People on this site.
