In 2012 HM Government listed Eight Great Technologies where the UK
was making great progress and in which the government would invest
money for future research. These ranged from Big Data, Space Research and
Robotics, through to Agri-Science and Energy.

In this talk I will describe the eight great technologies and explain why they are
all important. I will then show that mathematics underpins and links
all of them and will drive their future development. I will also explain how I
think that by doing this we will learn a lot of new maths in the process.

NO TICKETS FOR THIS LECTURE. ALL ARE WELCOME. STUDENTS OF ALL AGES ARE FREE, ALSO MEMBERS OF LivMS ARE FREE. OTHERS £3 AT THE DOOR.
