Michael is the Outreach Coordinator for the School of Physical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. He graduated from the University in 2004 with a degree in Mathematics. He has been involved with the FunMaths Roadshow since his time as a student. His current role includes visiting schools and organising events on the campus to promote STEM subjects to school and college students.

Michael is also active in the Liverpool Mathematical Society and with Mathematical Education on Merseyside (MEM), for which he helps to set the MEM Challenge and Senior Challenge competitions and shares in the organisation of the MEM Masterclasses. He has served on the LivMS Council for a number of years and chairs its meetings.
